Under some circumstances the Personal Printing MMC.exe may crash when selecting the “Personal Printing” tab and a “Default user PIN” was set in Personal Printing (see image below).
The default user PIN will be encrypted and stored in the following registry key.
Every time the “Personal Printing” tab is selected, the PIN needs to be decrypted. This might fail on some systems due to a bad implementation of the decryption algorithm
Applies to :
Personal Printing (any version)
You can work around the issue by removing the default user PIN.
Replace TPFMExt.dll with version 3.0.315.x or higher.
- Rename old TPFMExt.dll in %ProgramFiles%\Personal Printing\
- Copy new TPFMExt.dll to %ProgramFiles%\Personal Printing\
- Finally restart the server
