Problem:
Under some circumstances the Personal Printing GUI may crash when selecting the “Personal Printing” tab and a “Default user PIN” was set in Personal Printing (see image below).
Cause:
The default user PIN will be encrypted and stored in the following registry key.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\ThinPrint\TPFMExt\
DefaultUserPIN (REG_SZ)
Every time the “Personal Printing” tab is selected, the PIN needs to be decrypted. This might fail on some systems due to a bad implementation of the decryption algorithm
Applies to :
Personal Printing (any version)
Workaround:
You can work around the issue by removing the default user PIN.
Solution:
Replace TPFMExt.dll with version 3.0.315.x or higher.
- Rename old TPFMExt.dll in %ProgramFiles%\Personal Printing\
- Copy new TPFMExt.dll to %ProgramFiles%\Personal Printing\
- Finally restart the server
